and backed with an extensive DJ career, the man they call Myxzlplix is finally making amends with himself
by releasing his debut EP of original tracks that he deems “long overdue.” With immediate support and
some coaxing from Spring Strut’s head honcho Danny Massure, Myxzlplix can now kick that monkey off
his back and allow the world to get down with some mid-tempo business.
Now Recording is one of the first forth coming expansions of the Spring Strut catalog that brings wider
dance-floor appeal but keeps that same funky edge we’ve come to enjoy. Three enojyable head-nodding
tracks plus a bonus remix of Chewy from the label’s own Danny Massure help fortify this solid release.
From Myxzlplix’s 808 homage to West Coast Funk on Feel It, to the feverish, rampant ragga filled Chewy to
Miklo, the most cinematic cut off the release, Now Recording is modestly and spendily in tune with the
likes of Thievery Corporation or Nightmares on Wax. Just don’t forget, it’s a Spring Strut release; one that’s
bound to keep dancefloors busy and heads-a-noddin.
